Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of TaxSauce, including property tax analysis, appeal preparation, online filing assistance, advisor lead workflows, subscriptions, and related services.

Last updated June 3, 2026

1. Agreement to these Terms

By creating an account, using TaxSauce, starting an appeal workflow, claiming an advisor lead, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you use TaxSauce for a company or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use TaxSauce.

2. What TaxSauce does

TaxSauce provides software that helps users collect property information, compare comparable sales, organize evidence, prepare appeal materials, and, where supported, assist with online or offline property tax appeal workflows.

TaxSauce may also provide advisor discovery, lead generation, and workflow tools for tax professionals or other advisors. Advisor participation does not make TaxSauce a party to any separate engagement between a user and an advisor.

3. No legal, tax, appraisal, or financial advice

TaxSauce is not a law firm, tax advisor, appraiser, broker, or financial advisor. The service provides software, automation, document preparation support, and informational outputs only.

AI-generated analysis, comparable sale summaries, appeal reasons, filing suggestions, forms, packets, messages, and other outputs may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You are responsible for reviewing all outputs, confirming deadlines and filing requirements with the relevant county or agency, and deciding whether and how to file an appeal.

You should consult a qualified professional before relying on TaxSauce for legal, tax, appraisal, financial, or other consequential decisions.

4. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate account, billing, property, ownership, and contact information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for safeguarding your login credentials.

You may not use TaxSauce if you are prohibited from doing so by applicable law or if we have suspended or terminated your account.

5. Your property data and documents

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of property records, tax bills, notices, evidence, photos, forms, comments, advisor information, and other materials you submit.

You authorize TaxSauce to process your submitted data and documents to provide the service, generate outputs, operate workflows, improve reliability, troubleshoot issues, support customer requests, and maintain security and audit records.

Do not upload documents or information that you do not have the right to use or share.

6. AI and automation limitations

TaxSauce uses AI and automation to interpret records, suggest appeal paths, map form fields, draft evidence summaries, and interact with filing workflows. These systems are probabilistic and may fail, repeat steps, omit information, or misinterpret county-specific requirements.

You must review and approve any filing, packet, evidence summary, form field mapping, advisor message, or other output before submission or external use. TaxSauce does not guarantee any assessment reduction, refund, appeal outcome, filing acceptance, deadline compliance, or advisor result.

7. Online filing and third-party services

Some workflows may open or interact with county portals, payment processors, data providers, email services, mapping providers, property data sources, or other third-party services. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies.

You are responsible for complying with county portal rules and for confirming that any submission was received and accepted. TaxSauce is not responsible for outages, rejections, changes, errors, fees, or actions by third-party services.

Comparable sale links or data may be subject to third-party terms, including Zillow terms where Zillow source links are displayed.

8. Advisor workflows

TaxSauce may help users find advisors and may help advisors receive, claim, review, or manage leads. TaxSauce does not endorse, supervise, or guarantee any advisor, and does not control advisor pricing, services, advice, communications, or outcomes.

Advisors are responsible for their own licensing, registrations, conflicts checks, client communications, advertising compliance, billing, and professional obligations. Users are responsible for choosing whether to engage any advisor.

9. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans and add-ons are billed through Stripe or another payment processor shown at checkout. Prices, billing intervals, included features, usage limits, and renewal terms are presented in the product before purchase and may change for future billing periods where permitted by law.

Unless stated otherwise at checkout, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may manage or cancel billing through the billing portal or by contacting us. Cancellation normally stops future renewal and does not automatically refund prior charges unless required by law or expressly approved by TaxSauce.

Usage limits, feature access, AI credits, property caps, comp-search caps, and advisor lead terms are governed by the plan active on your account.

10. Acceptable use

You may not misuse TaxSauce, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, bypass usage or entitlement limits, scrape or resell the service, submit malicious files, use outputs to mislead a public agency, violate third-party rights, or use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.

You may not use TaxSauce to build a competing model, dataset, or service by bulk extracting outputs, prompts, workflows, or generated content except as expressly permitted in writing.

11. Ownership and licenses

TaxSauce and its software, design, workflows, prompts, documentation, models, trademarks, and related technology are owned by TaxSauce or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of TaxSauce technology to you.

You retain ownership of materials you submit, subject to the license you grant us to operate and improve the service. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you may use TaxSauce outputs for your own property tax appeal or advisor workflow purposes.

12. Disclaimers

TaxSauce is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not warrant that any form, filing, appeal packet, comparable sale, analysis, deadline, portal interaction, advisor lead, or AI output will be accurate, complete, accepted, timely, or suitable for your circumstances.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxSauce will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost data, missed deadlines, denied appeals, assessment changes, tax liabilities, advisor disputes, or third-party service failures.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxSauce total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to TaxSauce for the service giving rise to the claim during the twelve months before the event giving rise to liability, or one hundred dollars if you used only free services.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for TaxSauce or other users, fail to pay amounts due, misuse the service, or if continuing to provide the service would be unlawful or impractical.

You may stop using TaxSauce at any time. Certain provisions, including payment obligations, disclaimers, limits of liability, ownership, and dispute provisions, survive termination.

15. Changes to the service or Terms

We may change TaxSauce or these Terms as the service evolves. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the service, by email, or by another reasonable method. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable law requires another forum.
